The verbs "be" + "call" are used to name things.

 

  • A: What is this called?
  • B: It's called a backhoe.

  • B: It's called a bran muffin.

  • B: They're called bon bons. Some people call them "candy" or "chocolates."
  • A: What are these called?
  • B: They're called binoculars.
  • A: What's this?
  • B: It's called a funnel.

  • B: It's called a baboon.

  • B: They're called deer.
