The word "stretch" is used when making something longer or when making something last longer. It's similar to "pull," but you can only use "stretch" with something that is elastic or flexible.

  • After a long night's sleep, many people stretch their bodies when they wake up in the morning.
  • It's important to stretch your muscles properly before and after you exercise.
  • Peter woke up from a nap, yawned and stretched.
  • You have to make your money stretch if you have a big family.
