May 22, 2011 - Word of the Day: chirp

It's Sunday morning and I'm trying to think about what the next "word of the day" will be. I can hear birds singing outside of my house, so I'll choose the verb "chirp." (chirp: sing)

• There are some birds chirping outside the window.
• I love to hear the sound of crickets chirping on summer evenings.
• My daughter can chirp like a bird.
• What other kinds of animals or insects chirp?
