The word "scary" is an adjective that you can use when something frightens you or causes you to feel afraid or experience fear.
- He's a scary monster.

- The boy feels scared. (Use "scared" as a verb.)
- Do you like to watch scary movies?
- That was the scariest movie I have ever seen. (superlative form of the adjective)
You can also use "scary" when describing people or things that cause intimidation or uncertainty.
- Our English teacher is one scary dude.
- The weather is looking kind of scary right now.
- There were a lot of scary people riding the bus today.
- Donna said that the chemistry test was scary. She doesn't think she did very well on it.
- This is kind of a scary neighborhood. Let's get out of here.
- That fish looks too scary to eat.
Use "scare" as a verb:
- That move scared me. (past tense)
- I was scared by that movie. (past tense, passive voice)
