muggy

Use the word "muggy" when it’s hot and humid outside. The air seems to grab hold of you and "mug" you. This adjective is usually used in the summer when the weather is humid:

• It’s really muggy outside.
• The air is muggy.
• It’s so muggy today. We should turn on the air conditioning.
• It feels a little muggy.
• A dehumidifer can make your house feel a little less muggy.
