There are many different ways to use the word "post."

  • A sign post indicates where you are and how far you have to go.

  • A lamp post provides light for city streets at night.
  • Information is posted to attract attention to upcoming events.
  • A poster provides information about upcoming activities, or it’s a decorative form of art.
  • Letters and packages are sent through the post office.
  • A person who works for the post office is a postal worker.
  • Post-its are those sticky pieces of paper that people use to remind themselves of obligations and assignments.
  • A military post is a position that soldiers occupy.
  • You can post messages on a message board.
  • You can also post your ideas or communicate with other people in a chat room.
