The word of the day is "order." You can use this word as a noun or as a verb.

The word of the day is "scandal." This word is a noun used to describe a situation in which a person in a high position or in a position of responsibility does something that is unethical. We hear about scandals through newspaper reports or TV news programs every day.

The word of the day is "other." A student asked me about this word just yesterday. Don’t confuse this word with "others" or "another." The video included on that page should help you understand the differences.

The word of the day is "thief." I’ve had some problems lately with people stealing the content from my website and using it on their own websites, so this choice seems appropriate for today.

We’re coming to the end of the month, which means you are nearing the end of the level that you are working on. I recommend that you work on one level every month and complete the levels in sequence. It takes about seven months to go through all seven. If you finish the lessons too quickly, you won’t remember anything!

Learning English is hard and it takes time! There’s no such thing as a fast and easy approach.

The word of the day is "match." When things or people match, they go well together:

  • My shoes match my jacket. (They’re the same color.)
  • Maria and Charles are a good match. (They’re a good couple.)
  • A floral pattern and stripes don’t match. (They don’t look good together.)

Sometimes the most important words to learn in English are the little ones. Today’s word of the day is "old." Yes, you know what it means, but pay close attention to how it’s used.

The word "old" is an adjective. The Red Level lesson for today explains what adjectives are.

The word of the day is "naughty."

Today’s Blue Level lesson is on forming the past tense. The key to doing it the right way is to understand the difference between the simple form of the verb and the past tense form. I recommend you look at today’s lesson if you don’t know the difference between those two things.

Yesterday’s Red Level lesson was on forming the future tense with the helping verb ‘will." Did you study it? Remember to use the helping verb "will" and the main verb.

Do you know the differences between the present tense and the present perfect tense? They’re similar in some ways, but don’t get them mixed up, especially when forming a question.

The word of the day is "big." This is a fairly common and easy vocabulary word to understand; however, it’s used in many ways that might surprise you. I recommend you listen carefully to how I use the word in each sentence.

Students advance to a new level today. Blue Level students go to the Red Level, Red Level students go to the Yellow Level, and so on.
