Subordinating Conjunctions

Subordinating conjunctions are used to combine an independent clause and a dependent clause. These words and phrases go in front of the dependent clause. (You learned about dependent clauses in Orange Level Lesson Two.) Subordinating conjunctions are sometimes confused with prepositions.
