kit
We use the word "kit" as a noun for any collection of things or tools that serve some specific purpose. A kit is usually portable. You can take it anywhere and bring it out when it is needed:
- Carl keeps a first-aid kit in his car in case of an emergency.
- Mary Ann has a small sewing kit which she uses to repair clothing.
- Many people have a toolkit in their garage.
- A toolkit has all kinds of tools for fixing things around the house and on a car.
- If you ride a bike, it’s a good idea to carry around a repair kit in case you have problems.
- Many business people refer to software and programs as "toolkits" that address certain needs within the company.
- When I was a boy, I used a campfire kit for cooking whenever we went on a campout.
- A fishing kit is also called a "tacklebox."
It’s a good idea to keep a small toolkit in your car.
