These FIVE sections represent the kind of English that you hear in the United States every day. This is spoken English, which is very different from the kind of formal English that you might hear on the news or read in a newspaper.

Note: British and American English share some of the same slang, idioms, and expressions. Remember that a lot of American English comes from British English; however, there are many differences between these two forms of English. By the way, I love British English. This website merely points out some of the differences 😉
