The word of the day is "use." It’s important for you to know that this word can be a verb or a noun. When it’s a verb, the "s" in use sounds like a "z." When it’s a noun, the "s" sounds like an "s."

February 25, 2015 A student emailed me recently and asked why I didn’t answer his email. I told him this: On a daily basis I get a lot of email. It’s in the hundreds. If I responded to everyone every day, I would never get anything else done! Another reason for not always responding is because some email comes back to me as undeliverable. That means I sent an email to a student who wrote to me, but the email could not be delivered. Why? Sometimes it’s because a country blocks email. Sometimes a person’s inbox is full. Sometimes the email address is fraudulent. That’s a very frustrating thing to find out after spending ten or fifteen minutes on an email response to a student. So, I’ll do my best to respond to you, but please be understanding if I don’t. The word of the day is "dig."
