*teethe is a verb. It’s that which a baby does with his mouth when new teeth come through the gums. We say, The baby is teething. Note: The voiced “th” sound comes from the mouth and the vocal chords. Contrast this with the unvoiced “th” sound which comes only from the mouth as sound passes between the tongue and the teeth.
