kneel

A person "kneels" when he or she goes down to the ground on the knees. The pictures below show what kneeling looks like:

This man is kneeling.
He’s kneeling down to get some water.
These women are kneeling beside a mill and grinding some grain to make bread.

• Many people kneel when they pray.
• Sometimes people kneel before a king or a queen.
• If you have a job that requires you to kneel all day, it’s a good idea to wear knee pads to protect your knees.
