pour

When a liquid or a solid goes from a container to some intended area or another container, you can use the word "pour."

He’s pouring a chemical into a flask.
If you pour oil into your engine, it’s a good idea to use a funnel.
She’s pouring water into a bowl.
You pour cereal into a bowl.
Some people pour mulch onto their gardens.
It’s pouring rain. (When it rains heavily, you can use the word "pour.")

*Notice that the pronunication of "pour" is the same as the pronunication for the adjective "poor."
