snore

 

Use the verb "snore" to describe the sound a person makes while sleeping. Not everyone snores, but many people do:

  • Her husband snores so loudly that she can’t sleep at night.
  • Some people snore because of a medical condition.
  • I heard someone snoring in the library the other day.
  • Do you know if you snore at night?
  • My dog snores when she sleeps.
  • He can’t get to sleep because the other man is snoring.
