The word "jewelry" is a noncount noun that is used for precious stones such as diamonds, emeralds, and rubies. The word "jewelry" is also used for necklaces, rings, and earrings made of gold, silver, copper, nickel, etc. Natural items such as pearls are also considered jewelry.
