grant
To grant is to give something of importance or value to another person or to a group.
The word "grant" is also a noun. In this case a grant is an amount of money provided by the government.
The expression "taken for granted" is extremely common in English. When a person fails to honor or recognize the importance of another person or a thing, than we say that it is taken for granted. take for granted / took for granted / taken for granted
