Jello is a popular, inexpensive, and easy-to-make dessert. The word "jello" is actually the name of a brand, Jell-O, but as with other brand names, it has become so ubiquitous (present everywhere), most people use the brand name as a common noun that names a common thing.

• We had jello for dessert.
• Jello is also known as gelatin.
• To make a dessert with gelatin, use a jello mold.
• Jello is a light dessert that doesn’t really fill you up.
• Do you like jello?
• Do you know how to make jello?

Some of my students, namely those who speak Spanish, have trouble with the "j’ sound that is formed at the beginning of the word "jello." Say it after me: jello.
