Halloween

Carving pumpkins into Jack-o-lanterns is a popular Halloween activity in the U.S.

You cut out a hole in the top of the pumpkin. Then you scoop out the inside. Next, you cut out eyes, a nose, and mouth. Finally, you put a candle inside the pumpkin, light it, and place the Jack-o-lantern outside of your house.

This video explains how to do it.

A Jack-o-lantern keeps evil spirits away on the night of Halloween.

Children walk through their neighborhoods and knock on doors asking for candy.
